The power of the "Be Known" Campaign by Permian Warrior Partnership.

In the heart of the Permian Basin the #BeKnown campaign, is a movement led by the @Permian Warrior Partnership (PWP) to bring the Veteran community together. With a community of over 15,000 veterans, this campaign is a collective action, to get Veterans the support they need and be heard. The importance of veterans' voices, in shaping community needs, is often overlooked and PWP is determined to make change.

Imagine the impact if all 15,000+ veterans in our community actively participated in community outreach. The collective voice would be deafening, echoing through the #permianbasin and demanding attention from politicians and those responsible for policies in all areas. The "Be Known" campaign is not a political campaign but instead, an attempt to bring Veterans together and push for a better life outside the military.  As many Veterans express their concerns about healthcare, education, and other areas, without a collective voice, our concerns go unheard.

Beyond local polices, the campaign recognizes the need for veterans to support one another. Whether it’s making connections for business, seeking resources for life's necessities, or simply finding comfort in the company of like-minded individuals, the bonds that Veterans form at PWP events are like no other. The "Be Known" campaign serves as an avenue for veterans to come together, fostering a network of support and camaraderie that extends far beyond the hosted meetups and events. For instance, The 2nd Wednesday of every month PWP hosts a meetup called “Coffee With Sarge.” A local company sponsors the event each month and treats our Veteran community to coffee and breakfast. This week Big D Companies and Roto-Versal Energy Services showed up and supported the event in full force. It was great to see how many Veterans they had in their workforce.

This event is not only open to Veterans but to those who actively support the veteran community. We had our largest showing today and are continuing to grow! As we get together, we talk about local events and resources such as the one’s listed below:

  • Community trash pickup being hosted by Keith Stelter American Safety Services, Inc.. Friday 03/15/2024 from 11:00am – 1:00pm, at the corner of Yukon and Faudree road in Odessa. https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:7173682220983865344/

  • The Midland Gem and Mineral Society – a nonprofit that offers a Veteran program, teaching lapidary skills, and providing a great outlet for veterans who need something to enjoy and clear their minds.

  • Breezey Clark: Power of the Permian showed up to support our cause, after doing a podcast episode with @Lewis Hinojos, that discussed the power of organizations like PWP. They discussed the true value of Veterans networking and the power of being known. The discussions about local resources and examples of lives they’ve changed are eye opening to say the least. Check it out here! https://www.linkedin.com/company/power-of-the-permian/

  • Daniel Ortega: Midland College - Director of Veteran & Military - Affiliation Outreach spoke about using Veteran education benefits for both the Veteran and their families.

  • Le Ann Howell: We Create Warriors spoke about providing opportunities for others who were once abused and how they help them realize their ability to turn into warriors and have control over their futures.

  • Robert Gomez discussed the Tall City Beer Run Season 5 🖐 Opener!! Thursday March 14th at 6:30pm where they will have @dj_laurie spinning tracks, membership opportunities, food trucks, and of course beers 🍻 from your favorite local craft Brewery, Tall City Brewing Co.!

The "Be Known" campaign also has potential to effect meaningful change within the community. By amplifying the Veteran voice and creating new connections, the campaign paves the way for a stronger community, where veterans are not only recognized but actively engaged in shaping a stronger message. As numbers grow and Veterans join the “Be Known” campaign we strengthen our voice and create awareness within the community.

As the Permian Warrior Partnership continues to spearhead the movement, its impact throughout the community, ignites a sense of purpose and unity among veterans. It serves to create friendships, and connect those who have served, reminding us of the power behind of having a mission.
